Tyson employees 'Team up for Hunger'

Monday, December 29, 2008

This holiday season, the employees of Tyson Foods Cherokee plant held their second annual "Tyson Team Up for Hunger" food drive for the Christian Action Program (CAP) food bank. Tyson team members helped stock the CAP food bank in a variety of ways this year. They donated 385 6-7 pound hams, brought in non-perishable items, and raised $313.36 from cash donations and a raffle for paid vacation days. In this photo, Tyson Safety Manager Lynn Hall (right) presents the money raised to Herb Ford, representing CAP. Jon Curry, the Cherokee Fareway store manager, is on the left. Fareway will work with CAP and Tyson's to use the money donated to stock the CAP Food Pantry. Everyone involved sends out their sincere thanks to the Tyson team members who contributed to this generous gift. Photo by Dan Whitney
