Judith Ann Gardner 68, of Santa Cruz, California, died on December 22, 2008 in San Francisco, after a brief illness.
Judith, the daughter of Dale and Gertrude E. Simmons, was born in Fresno, California, but grew up in Cherokee, Iowa. She later lived in Nebraska for a time before moving to California. She had been a resident of Santa Cruz since 1976.
Judith worked in the Health Care field as a Registered Nurse for 45 years and as a teacher for 12 years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and dispensing sound medical advice to family, friends and neighbors. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Capitola, Cal.
Judith is survived by two daughters, Mindy Gardner of Soquel, Cal. and Kathleen Gardner of Concord, Cal; a son, Christopher gardner and his wife Ane of Santa Cruz; two brothers, Craig Simmons of Gilroy, Cal. and Mark Simmons of Encino, Cal.; and three grandchildren, Kyle Eck and Diego and sophia Menard.
A memorial service was held for Judith on Saturday December 27 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel; 1050 Cayuga Street; Santa Cruz, California, and was followed by a reception at the home of her son Chris.
