MMC sank just 18-62 field goals for a cold 29 percent, and netyted 14-22 free throws. Spalding made 18-49 shots for 37 percent, and cashed in 10-20 free thows.

"This was one of those nights that our two starting freshmen, Erica and Kayla, carried our team," said MMC coach Shane Williams. "Erica had an amazing defensive effort, played at a high level, and gave our team great energy. Kayla had an outstanding game on the boards and really took over the game offensively late in the fourth quarter after they had tied it at 37-37. We finished on a 12-3 scoring run when it mattered most.

"Our inexperience has us having difficulty putting someone away. We tend to settle. You can't allow a team to hang around - especially on the road."
