A fundraising event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cherokee Community Center (lower level) for Ava Simonsen.
Ava was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Prom dresses have been donated from girls all over the state of Iowa. Organizers will be selling these "like new" dresses for a fraction of the original selling price.
Proceeds benefit the Ava Simonsen Fund,
There will be over 100 dresses to choose from- all different sizes and styles, priced anywhere from $25-$75.
"I Wear Orange for Ava" t-shirts will be sold for $15. Dresses will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
If you have a dress to donate to this special cause, drop off your old prom dresses on Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cherokee Community Center (lower level).
