Funeral services were held on Saturday Feb. 7 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus, Pastor Gary McDonough officiating. Burial was in the Marcus Amherst Cemetery in Marcus Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee was in charge of arrangements.
Doris was born on Dec. 4, 1921 in Quimby to Clare and Helen (Moe) Green. She attended Quimby High School, graduating in 1941. Doris then went on to Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, where she earned her teaching degree.
On Jan. 25, 1953, she married Edgar Roseen in Cherokee. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2004. She taught county school in Quimby, Cleghorn, Cherokee, and Storm Lake. Doris loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, reading, and quilting. Doris taught at the Holy Name Catholic Schools in Marcus for a short time later in her career. She also cleaned the Grace United Methodist Church and served hot lunch in Marcus in her retirement.
Doris was a 50-year member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus. She was also a member of the Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar in 2004; three brothers, Burl Green, Vernon Green, and Melvin Green; and a sister, Vesta Courtright.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Kunkel and her husband, James, of Marcus; two sons, Doug Roseen and his wife, Linda and Brian Roseen, all of Marcus; four grandchildren, Molly Fordyce, Nathan Roseen, Alex Roseen, and Mallory Roseen; a sister, Beverly Nelson of Cherokee; a brother, Dale Green and his wife, Dorothy, of Estherville; and a sister-in-law, Collen Green of Cherokee.
