'Sermons a la Carte' to start on Feb. 25

The Memorial Presbyterian Church will soon begin its 24th annual Sermons a la Carte worship and lunch, starting on Feb. 25 at the Memorial Presbyterian Church.

For the six weeks of Lent, the church will host a guest pastor and provide lunch after each sermon.

Services will be from 12:05 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and lunch will start at 12:30 p.m. Cost will be $3. The 2009 theme will be "Encounters At The Cross."

Pastor Ethan Sayler of the Memorial Presbyterian Church will present "Disciples: Marked by the Cross" on Feb. 25.

Pastor Jim Steen of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church will present "Roman Empire: King of the Jews?" on March 4.

Pastor Missy Brown of the United Methodist Church of Aurelia will present "Jewish Crowd: Save Yourself!" on March 11.

Pastor Larry Ostercamp of the Meriden Evangelical Free Church will present "Criminals: Remember Me" on March 18.

Sister Janice Hoffman of the Immaculate Conception Church will present "The Grieving: A Speechless Loss" on March 25.

Pastor Rick Layman of the Washta/Quimby Methodist Church will present "Centurion: This Was God's Son" on April 1.
