Nees scores 30 points, grabs 10 rebounds

IDA GROVE - The Galva-Holstein boys ran their snazzy season record to 17-3 with a 70-60 win over Boyer Valley in the Western Valley Conference consolation game here last week.

Taylor Nees fired in 30 game-high points to lead the Pirates of coach Bob Lee, while Mark Cronin and Isaiah Miller added nine apiece. Kyle Brosamle paced Boyer Valley with 21 points.

Nees rang up another double-double performance for the G-H boys with 10 rebounds. Cronin and Miller had five boards apiece.

The Pirates sank 25-54 field goals for 44 percent, and cashed in 18-28 free throws. BV made 13-20 free throws in the foul-plagued game.

"We played a really good first half and then it seemed like both team got real tired," said G-H coach Lee. "Fortunately, we were able to hang on for the victory."
