PAULLINA - South O'Brien's boys rushed to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and kept the hammer down all the way to record a decisive 73-35 basketball win over Remsen St. Mary's here last week.
Four Wolverines cracked into double figures to pace the high-powered SOS attack, with Ryan Brasser leading the way with 19 points, followed by Jarod Syndergaard 17, Kyle Petrich 13, and Adam Paulsen 10.
Brasser also cleaned the boards with a dozen rebounds for a nifty double-double, while Matt Cole grabbed eight. Syndergaard had five steals to lead that category, and Brasser registered three assists. Beau Pick led St. Mary's in rebounds with six.
SOS sank 39-74 field goals for a sizzling 53 percent, and netted 6-12 free throws. St. Mary's made 20-74 field goals for a chilly 27 percent effort, and cashed in 1-4 free throws. RSM was 6-26 from three-point range.
