Mark W. Draper, 39, of Quimby, formerly of Holstein and Cherokee, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 21, 2009, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident southwest of Cherokee.

Memorial services were held on Feb. 26 at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with Jean Jenness officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Mark's remains were cremated. Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mark was born on Nov. 6, 1969 in Cherokee to James W. Draper Jr. and Diane (Graham) Thomas. He attended Cherokee Community Schools, graduating in 1988. He was married to Wendy Hunter in August of 1992 in Rogers, and was later married to Jeanne Zach on July 27, 1996 at Swisher. Mark worked as a welder for a few years and had been a truck driver for Cherokee Sanitary Services for several years. He resided in Quimby the past two years, and prior to this had lived in Holstein for 11 years. He was originally from Cherokee. Mark enjoyed motorcycles, cards, his daughters and liked to listen to music.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Violet Graham; paternal great-grandparents, Lester and Mary Draper; maternal grandparents Darrell and Jane Graham; and his paternal grandfather, James W. Draper Sr.

He is survived by his three daughters, Mercedes Draper of Boone; and Jordan and Jocelyn Draper of Holstein; his father, James W. Draper Jr. and his significant other, Diane Beagle of Holstein; his mother, Diane Thomas and her husband Jeff of Cherokee; his paternal grandmother, Helen Draper of Cherokee; two sisters, Jessica (Draper) Jorgenson and her husband Clinton of Clarksville, Tenn.; and Michelle (Thomas) Rupp and her husband Brian of Burbank, S.D.; five nieces, several aunts and uncles.
