Christi Allender and James Carstens
Frankie Allender is pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of her mother, Christi Allender, daughter of Kenny and Jackie Ray of Washta to James Carstens, son of David and Connie Carstens of Cushing. Christi is the granddaughter of Betty Rienfeld of Sonoma, Calif., and the late Myrl Rienfeld, and the late Shorty and Clarsie Ray of Washta. James is the grandson of James and Mary Morgan and Hilda and the late Ernie Carstens, all of Quimby. A graduate of Aurelia High School, Christi received her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Buena Vista University. She is currently employed with DHS Targeted Case Management in Cherokee. James is a graduate of River Valley High School. He received his Diesel Technology degree from Western Iowa Tech and a bachelor's degree in Finance from Iowa State University. He is currently employed at O'Halloran International in Cherokee. A May 9, 2009, wedding is planned at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee with a reception to follow at Western Iowa Tech Conference Center.
