Mary Frances Brickson, 97, formerly of Alta and Aurelia, passed away on Feb. 11, 2009 at Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake.

Funeral services were held on March 3rd at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, and burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Alta. Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Frances was on June 14, 1911 at Alta to William and Isabelle (White) Keister. She was a twin to Margaret Keister and also had a younger sister Bonnie Keister. The family moved to a farm near Aurelia, and Mary attended school there, graduating in 1929. She was married to Orville Brickson in 1930, and they farmed until their retirement. The remaining years were spent on an acreage near Alta and then at Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake for the past 12 years. Mary was an avid horse woman, winning many trophies along the way and was an animal lover, especially her dog "Puppy."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville in 1998; and her two sisters.

Surviving her and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
