Jones first-team All-Lakes pick

Koch All-Lakes second team, Dagel, Schuck Honorable Mention

Tyler Jones, a 5-10 senior guard and four year varsity regular for Cherokee's Braves, was named to the first team All-Lakes Conference Boys Basketball Team announced this week.

Cherokee's Matt Koch, a 6-3 senior forward and three-year varsity regular, earned second team All-Lakes honors.

Cherokee's 6-7 sophomore post player Brock Dagel, in his second season of varsity action, earned Honorable Mention All-Lakes status, as did 6-2 junior Kyle Schuck.

Lakes Conference champion Hull Western Christian landed three first-team berths and two second-team berths to post all five starters on the All-Lakes teams.

First-team picks for HWC included Shawn Keizer, a 6-4 senior; Trevor Wolterstorff, a 6-5 senior; and Curtis VanGrouw, a 6-8 senior. Other first-team selections were Kyle Fitch, 6-2 senior from Spencer; Andy Dykstra, a 6-1 senior from Sheldon; Taylor Oetken, a 6-4 senior from Le Mars; Tyler Solsma, a 6-1 senior from Spirit Lake; and Nick Wuebker, a 6-8 sophomore from Emmetsburg. Wolterstorff and Dykstra were unanimous picks.

The second team All-Lakes included Tyler Wolterstorff, a 6-5 sophomore from HWC; Jordan Vogel, a 6-8 senior from HWC; Carson Baethke, a 6-5 senior from Spencer; Paxtron Strub, a 6-6 sophomore from Le Mars; Sam VanWettering, a 5-11 junior from Le Mars; Trevor Dettmann, a 6-4 senior from Emmetsburg; Taylor Zeutenhorst, a 6-4 junior from Sheldon; and Dylan Sievert, a 6-5 senior from Estherville-LC.

Lakes Conference co-coaches of the year were Dave Irwin of Le Mars, and Jim Eekhoff of HWC.
