NFL player stays in Marcus

Josh Stamer, a linebacker for the Tennessee Titans, stayed at the "Hometown Guesthouse" in Marcus this past November. Unfortunately for him and his family, they were in Marcus for a funeral, but he graciously sent an autographed picture which the motel received a short time ago. The Guesthouse had it framed and it's on display at the front desk. A decorated prep athlete, Stamer grew up in Sutherland and graduated from South O'Brien High School. He attended the University of South Dakota where he starred in football. He has played in the NFL for six years. He played with the Buffalo Bills before signing with the Titans in 2008.
