Aurelia's Meyer, Bruce All-NWC picks

Two Aurelia Bulldog 12th graders, Camrin Meyer and Aaron Bruce, were among the selections for the 2008-2009 Northwest Conference Boys' Basketball All-Conference teams announced recently.

Camrin Meyer
Meyer, the son of Kent and Erin Ahnemann, was named to the Second Team All-Conference, while Bruce, son of Darin and Angie Bruce, received Honorable Mention.

State Tournament participant Laurens-Marathon, the NWC champ, placed two seniors on the First Team All-Conference, Ryan Stumbo and Adam Woodin. Second place Sioux Central also landed two players on the First Team, senior Stuart Goslinga and sophomore Adam Ehlers. Alta , which placed third in the conference standings, also had two seniors on the First Team, Michael Huseman and Austin Stille. Storm Lake St. Mary's sophomore Conner Richardson rounded out the First Team selections.

Aaron Bruce
Named to the Second Team were Aurelia's Meyer, Laurens-Marathon seniors Brett Wollum and Caleb Jamison, Sioux Central senior Trevor Tiefenthaler, Alta senior Jeremy Lambert, St. Mary's junior Paul Yak, and Newell-Fonda senior Jack Reis.

Honorable Mention went to Aurelia's Bruce, L-M's Zach Lovin, SC's Jason Richter, Alta's Jack Mills, St. Mary's Michael Ivey, N-F's Nate Reichter and Schaller-Crestland's Steven Mason.

Final NWC Conference Standings: 1. Laurens-Marathon (11-1); 2. Sioux Central (10-2); 3. Alta (8-4); 4. Storm Lake St. Mary's (6-6); 5. Newell-Fonda (5-7); 6. Aurelia (2-10); 7. Schaller-Crestland (0-12).
