Schuett twin winner at Lakes Indoor

SIOUX CENTER - Cherokee's Kyle Schuett, Iowa's defending Class 2A State Champion in 100 meters, won the 55 meters and the 200 meters races at last week's Lakes Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet at Dordt College here, hosted by Lakes Conference foe Le Mars.

Schuett clocked 6.64 to win the 55 meters, and was timed in 24.79 to win the 200 meters.

His teammate Matt Koch was second in the 55-meter high hurdles in a time of 7.94, and Koch placed third in the high jump with a leap of 5-10. Kyle Schuck placed seventh in the high jump with a 5-6 effort, and finished eighth in the 55-meter high hurdles in a time of 8.46. Nolan Sampson was ninth in the high jump with a 5-4 effort.

The Braves 4x800 relay team of Dan Bieber, Philip Bieber, Zack Mosbach, and Luke Pearson placed sixth in a time of 9:19.31.

Nate O'Bryan was ninth in the 800 meters in 2:23.10, and 10th in the 1600 meters in 5:17.67.

Cherokee's 4x200 relay of Koch, Schuck, Philip Bieber, and Tony Hunt placed sixth in 1:44.82; and the 4x400 relay of Schuett, Philip Bieber, Koch, and Dan Bieber was third in 3:51.79.

No team points were kept in the abbreviated indoor meet.
