While the Washta fireman were turning out the flapjacks during their recent pancake brunch, the members of their auxiliary were busy destroying local diets with a bake sale that featured a wide variety of baked delights the likes of bread, cookies, pies and cakes still steaming from the members' ovens. Great griddling On March 29, the griddles were kept hot and smoking down at the southern end of the county as the boys from the Washta Fire Department turned out in force to host their annual Spring Pancake Brunch. Among those who put in exemplary services at the business ends of spatulas and other sundry flippers were Washta firemen Jeff Deeds, Chris Lillefloren and Paul King. Pancake pals On March 29, the Washta Firemen and their auxiliary were the hosts at their Annual Spring Pancake Brunch. The affair, which featured a menu that included pancakes, French toast, sausage, coffee and juice attracted a lot of area folks.
