KINGSLEY - The Galva-Holstein girls placed second in the second Western Valley Conference meet of the season here on Monday.
The G-H team shot a team score of 205, to trail fisrt place Remsen-Union by five strokes. G-H coach Mike Richard said, " I very pleased to see the consistent play of our six girls, and see us take seven team strokes off from our score at the first conference meet. I was surprised to not see any scores in the 60's, considering the cool temperatures and 30 to 40 mph winds. The girls stepped up their games under very tough playing conditions. Remsen-Union continues to be the team to chase, with another low round from their team leader, Gina Mae Frericks."
Scores for the G-H team members were: Shawna Muckey 49, Anna Brondyke 51, Jaime Christensen 52, Kristina Vollmar 53, Natalie Waller 54, and Sarah Forristal 54. Frericks was again the meet medalist, as she was last week at Holstein, shooting a round of 42. Runner-up medalist, again for the second week in a row, was Odebolt-Arthur's Brittany Walsh, who shot a 46.
WVC Meet #3 will be played on a very tough Mapleton course next Monday.
