Spencer blanks WHS tennis girls

Visiting Spencer smashed the Cherokee Washington High girls 9-0 in Lakes Conference tennis action here Tuesday night, in a make-up of a match the week before that was postponed due to a scheduling conflict.

For Cherokee in varsity singles, Demi Dunn lost 10-3 to Hannah Martens at #1, Allie Parker lost 10-3 to Jennifer Barnett at #2, Sydney Morton fell 10-2 to Mackenzie Kabrick at #3, Amanda Kohn lost 10-0 to Holly McCloud at #4, Hillary Wilkie lost 10-4 to Jill Wittrock at five, and Aurora Buschkamp fell 10-1 to Lutda Lovan at #6.

In varsity doubles, Dunn and Parker lost 10-4 to Martens and Kabrick at #1, Morton and Kohn frell 10-0 to Barnett and McCloud at #2, and Wilkie and Buschkamp lost 10-4 to Amanda Edwards and Lovan at #3.

Spencer also won the JV match 8-1, with Jackie Wilson winning at #3 singles for Cherokee's lone victory.

In other JV singles, Denise Freed lost 8-1 at #1, Nicole Kellen lost 8-3 at #2, Emily Estala lost 8-1 at #4, Kelsey Raper lost 8-1 at #5, and Amber Haupert lost 8-4 at #6.

In JV doubles, Raper and Jenae Lundell lost 8-1 at #1, Brianne Fowler and Shelby Bingham lost 8-0 at #2, and Fowler and Jordan Miller lost 8-1 at #3.
