HOLSTEIN A grand opening event will be held at Galva Holstein Ag's Renew-able Energy Center in Holstein on Tuesday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located at 211 North Main Street, this new station is the most recent addition to the company's E85 and biodiesel sites.
Galva Holstein Ag already has existing E85 pumps in Galva and Ida Grove. Lucy Norton of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and Jen Barglof from the Iowa Soybean Association will be available during the event to answer questions about E85 and biodiesel. In addition to other special VIP guests, KKIA 92.9 FM radio personality, Matt Fischer, will be on hand conducting a live radio broadcast.
The date of May 5 is symbolic because Galva Holstein Ag opened its first E85 pump in Galva on May 5, 2005 ... just four short years ago. In addition to receiving generous fuel discounts, customers will receive a complimentary lunch of Tiefenthaler brats and the works. The public is invited to attend.
"We are excited to get clean‐burning ethanol and biodiesel fuels into more flex‐fuel vehicles in this area and hope that everyone will consider using the Holstein blender pumps", states Gary Brosamle, Energy Department Manager at Galva Holstein Ag, LLC. "E85 and biodiesel are good for the environment and our economy. If our local farmers do well, then we all do well ... so it is a wise decision to use renewable fuels which support Iowa's future", Brosamle continued.
