Master Sergeant Todd R. Harmon, the son of Larry and Colleen Harmon of Cherokee, retired from 25 1/2 years of service in the United States Air Force on April 1, 2009.

During his time in the service, Msgt Harmon was given the opportunity to finish his education, as well as travel the world. Harmon earned his Bachelors degree and two Associate degrees during his years in the service, and was honored for many programs that he initiated.

Todd is married to the former Twilla Brandt, who is also in the Air Force. She is currently stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Omaha, and Todd's future plans are to work for a private contractor on the base.

The couple make their home in Glenwood, Iowa.
