Cherokee girls fall at Spirit Lake-Okoboji

SPIRIT LAKE - The Cherokee Washington High girls tennis squad dropped a decisive 9-0 decision to Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji in Lakes Conference tennis action here Friday night.

In varsity singles for the WHS gals, Demi Dunn lost 10-5 to Ali Gerking at #1, Allie Parker fell 10-0 to Aubry Kolegraf at #2, Michelle McGarry lost 10-2 to Cassidy Clarity at #3, Sydney Morton lost 10-0 to Kathleen Rowley at #4, Amanda Kohn fell 10-0 to Kylie Stoll at #5, and Hillary Wilkie lost 10-0 to Olivia Skogerboe at #6.

In varsity doubles, Dunn and Parker lost 10-2 to Kolegraf and Clarity at #1, McGarry and Morton fell 10-2 to Gerking and Rowley at #2, and Kohn and Wilkie lost 10-1 to Stoll and Skogerboe at #3.

SLP-O also won the JV match 9-0. For Cherokee JV singles, Sanna Miller lost 8-3 at #1, Nicole Kellen lost 8-0 at #2, Jackie Wilson lost 8-1 at #3, Denise Freed lost 8-1 at #4, Emily Estala lost 8-0 at #5, and Kelsey Raper lost 8-2 at #6.

In JV doubles, Amber Haupert and Kellen lost 8-1 at #1, Wilson and Freed lost 8-0 at #2, and Estala and Raper lost 8-0 at #3.

The Cherokee girls play in the Lakes Conference Tournament at Storm Lake Saturday, and host Le Mars Monday.
