Sheldon golfers slip by Cherokee girls

Visiting Sheldon nicked the Cherokee Washington High girls 234-235 in Lakes Conference girls golf action at the Cherokee Golf & Country Club here Tuesday night.

The scheduled Lakes Conference triangular also originally included Hull Western Christian, but the Wolfpack does not have a girls golf team this season.

Sarah Wahlstrom of Sheldon was medalist with a 53, and her teammate Kelsey Bruns was runner-up with a 54.

Amanda Callahan was low for Cherokee with a 55, followed by Jessica Cook 57, Ally Curry 60, Kelsey Lludwig 63, Emily Cook 63, and Danielle Hansen 64.

Sheldon also won the JV match 265-267. Brooke Luetkeman was runner-up medalist for Cherokee with a 59. Other WHS JV scores were Emily Anderson and Tonya Stowater each 68, and Brittani Cates 72.

Cherokee plays at the Carroll Kuemper Invitational Saturday, and travels to Spencer Monday for a Lakes Conference triangular also including Storm Lake.
