MARCUS - Hunter Leavitt's 13th Annual Bake Sale for Cystic Fibrosis will be held in the fellowship hall at Grace United Methodist Church, 303 E. Fenton St. in Marcus (just across the street from the MMC High School), from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9.
The Bake Sale moved to this location, with better parking, last year, and the move was strongly supported by the community.
There will be coffee, strawberry lemonade, a few goodies to sample, and tables loaded with baked goods, freezer jam, pies, and homemade candies at the event, and all proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to be used for research and to improve the lives of those who have CF.
Progress in CF research has accelerated over the past few years, most evident in the pioneering field of gene therapy technology. Currently, more than 150 individuals have undergone the experimental gene therapy, which offers the best hope for life-saving treatment. Research is the best defense in the ongoing battle to cure CF and ensure a brighter future for hose who face this disease every day.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this fund raiser, and are invited to do one or more of the following: bring baked goods to sell, help out that morning, come and purchase items, or just come for coffee.
If you would like to help that day, or if you would like more information, please feel free to give Elaine (712-376-4333) or Becky (376-2462) Leavitt a call. They would love to see a large turnout on May 9.
