MARCUS - Andy Braun carded a 36 to reap medalist honors for Cherokee and lead the Braves to the team title of a non-conference boys golf triangular here last week.
The Braves totaled a 162 to win the golf meet, followed by host Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn's 164, and Aurelia's 181.
Other scores for Cherokee included David Cook 39, Brock Benson 43, Matt Pitts 44, Jake Spindler 44, and Tyler Lundsgaard 50.
Blaine Dammann led the MMC boys with a 40, followed by Jacob Lehnhoff and Jordan Petersen each with 41, Jerad Letsche 42, Nathan Wendte 45, asnd Zach Specht 51.
Nick Hirschman was low medal for Aurelia with a 42, followed by Camrin Meyer and Jarret Heubrock 43 each, Cody Glienke 53, and Travis Otto 66.
Braun was medalist for Cherokee with a 36, and his teammate Cook was runner-up medalist with a 39.
In JV action, Cherokee also won the team title with a 172, followed by MMC 184. Aurelia did not field a JV squad.
Adam Pitts was low for the Young Braves with a 41, followed by Austin Mongan 43, Austin Winchell and Dillon Devitt 44 each, Alex Peck 47, and Tom Weaver 49.
For MMC, Jesse Kunzweiler was low with a 43, followed by Eli Hohbach 45, Tyler Pearson 46, Jacob Pearson 50, and Dalton Brady 51.
The Braves host a Lakes Conference Triangular with Spencer and Storm Lake tonight at the Cherokee Golf & Country Club.
