Dittmer receives award

Amanda Dittmer of Quimby received the AIB College of Business Arnold and Dorothy Johnson Scholarship at a ceremony held April 20, 2009 in the AIB Activities Center.

The scholarship was established in 1997 in memory of Arnold Johnson and his wife, Dorothy. Arnold Johnson graduated from AIB in 1937, and worked for many years at Swift Meatpacking Company as the traffic manager. After retirement, the Johnsons moved to Arizona, and became very active in the AIB Alumni Association.

Following their deaths, the Johnsons donated $1 million to AIB,and the money was used to create the Arnold and Dorothy Johnson Scholarship Fund. Each summer, AIB awards 20 students a $1,000 scholarship. Dittmer a 2008 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee, is majoring in Business Administration.
