Keith "Pat" Ryan, 73, of Sioux City, formerly of Cherokee, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, following a brief illness.

Pat was born on June 1, 1935 at Anthon, to Edward P. and Ruby (Swain) Ryan. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1954. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1955 until 1959. He was a painter for many years, retiring in 1986. He lived in Sioux City the past 15 years and previously lived in Texas and Cherokee. Pat enjoyed watching fast pitch softball while living in Sioux City, and watched all kinds of sporting events on television, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stanley Ryan and Jerry Ryan.

He is survived by one brother, Mike J. Ryan and his wife Tessie of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Denise Ramsey and her husband Scott of Tacoma, Wash.; one son, Bradley W. Ryan; two granddaughters, Lindsay Myers and her husband Daniel of Maple Valley, Wash. and Lacey Hughes and her husband Joshua of Buckley, Wash.; two great-grandsons, Carter Myers and Carson Hughes; and several nieces and nephews. including Aimee Rupp and her husband Steve of Cherokee; Gigi Boothby and her husband David of Cherokee; and Ida Ryan of Tyler, Texas.
