WHS girls' tennis season ends in Regional

LE MARS - The door shut fast on the Cherokee Washington High girls tennis season in Class 2A Regional action here on Saturday, as host Le Mars swept the first five singles matches to clinch the team match early and swiftly, with a 5-0 victory and no need for doubles matches.

In varsity singles action for Cherokee, Demi Dunn lost 6-0, 6-0 to Samm Rich at #1, Allie Parker lost 6-0, 6-3 to Caitlin Bauerly at #2, Michelle McGarry lost 6-0, 6-1 to Natalie Miller at #3, Sydney Morton lost 6-1, 6-1 to Erica Westhoff at #4, Amanda Kohn lost 6-0, 5-3 at #5 (did not finish-match already decided), and Hillary Wilkie lost 6-0, 6-2 to Haley Switalski at #6.
