WHS girls lose in Regional Tennis

SPENCER - The Cherokee Washington High girls tennis team saw its season end here Thursday in Class 1A Regional Tennis Meet action.

In varsity singles action for Cherokee, Demi Dunn won two of three matches at #1, beating Megan Averill of Fort Dodge St. Edmond 8-6 (7-5 tiebreaker), 3-6, 6-3; beating Haley Switalski of Le Mars 6-3, 6-1; and losing to Sioux City Heelan's Katherine Merritt 0-6, 0-6.

At #2 singles, Allie Parker lost 0-6, 2-6 to Holly McCloud of Spencer.

In doubles action for Cherokee, Amanda Kohn and Hillary Wilkie lost 0-6, 1-6 to Spencer's Barnett and Kabrick; and Sydney Morton and Michelle McGarry lost 3-6, 2-6 to Storm Lake (opponent names not submitted).
