MANSON - The Galva-Holstein/Schaller-Crestland Lady Pirates won their third straight game of the young softball season Thursday, defeating Manson Northwest Webster 6-1 in non-conference play.
The Lady Pirates continue to get good hitting up and down their line-up, along with quality pitching and solid defense. Leading the way at the plate on Thursday were Emily Schiernbeck, Roxanne Grundmeier, Shannon Rohlk, and Brooke Wiese, all of whom had 2-4 nights at the plate.
Jaime Christensen got her third win of the season with a strong outing, going seven innings, giving up four hits and one earned run, with five strikeouts and one walk.
Coach Scott Phelps felt that his team put together their best performance of the year so far, as they "continue to improve each game and play like a team."
