GALVA - Galva-Holstein/Schaller-Crestland took on the 3rd - ranked Woodbury Central softball team Monday night and suffered their first loss of the young season, 6-0.
Taking the loss on the mound for the Lady Pirates was Jaime Christensen, who gave up nine hits and six runs, with two walks and five strikeouts.
GHSC Coach Scott Phelps said, "The kids played hard and gave good effort, but we didn't have any breaks go our way. Their defense made a lot of nice plays , and we hit everything right at them. Our defense wasn't as strong as it has been. We had a couple rallies going, but couldn't get the big hit when we needed it. We just couldn't put any hits together."
