Area students named to Dean's List at Morningside

SIOUX CITY - Each semester, Morningside College recognizes students who have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.67 or better that semester, with no grade below a "C," while having a schedule of at least 12 credits, by naming them to the Dean's Honor List. Several area students were named to the Dean's Honor List for the 2009 spring semester, including :

Autumn Bartel, daughter of Dale and Linda Bartel of Cherokee, a past graduate of Cherokee Washington who graduated from Morningside this spring. Bartel majored in Biology at Morningside; Jennifer Bechtel, daughter of Michael and Joyce Bechtel of Cherokee, a past graduate of Cherokee Washington who is a senior at Morningside, majoring in elementary education; David Briese, son of Brian and Pamela Briese of Correctionville and a past graduate of River Valley High School, is a 2009 Morningside graduate who majored in political science and had a pefrect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester; Nancy Perrin, daughter of James and Brenda Perrin of Cherokee, is a past graduate of Cherokee Washington, and is a junior majoring in elementary education and special education at Morningside; Alicia Runyan, daughter of Norma Bush of Cleghorn, is a past graduate of Cherokee Washington and graduated from Morningside in 2009, majoring in advertising and graphic design. She earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester; Shannon Schroeder, daughter of Janet Schroeder and Richard Sorensen, both of Cherokee, is a past Washington High graduate, and is a sophomore at Morningside, majoring in Spanish; and Michele Witcombe, daughter of Michael and Debra Witcombe of Cherokee, a past Cherokee Washington graduate who is a junior at Morningside, majoring in elementary education.
