MMC's Lehnhoff named Player of the Week

WEST DES MOINES - During the 2008/2009 Iowa High School Baseball and Softball seasons, Iowa Network Services (INS) and your local Independent Telephone Companies are proud to support Iowa's athletes, and each week present a "Player of the Week" from Iowa's high school baseball and softball regular season play.

INS "Player of the Week" winners for the week of June 1, 2009 included Jacob Lehnhoff of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn in Class A. The senior batted .800 in four games this past week, scoring eight runs and stealing seven bases.

In a victory over Aurelia, Lehnhoff was perfect in three trips to the plate, scored three runs, and stole a pair of bases. He also earned the win on the mound, firing a two hitter and registering 12 strikeouts.
