The Feedlot Monitoring Program is not new, but it has been improved. "Producers told us that they would like to be able to view the performance of all pens of cattle on one sheet. The new download will do that," said Beth Doran, ISU Extension Beef Field Specialist.
This change and other enhancements will be explained in a Feedlot Monitoring Program Workshop on June 18 at the Plymouth County Extension Office in LeMars. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The morning session will feature an introductory presentation followed by hands-on time at the computer to enter sample data, do a closeout and create a customer billing.
In the afternoon, the new, free download will be demonstrated. There will also be a question and answer session. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their data and questions they have encountered while using the program.
Participants may bring their own computer or use a supplied computer for the workshop. To register, contact the Sioux County Extension Office at 712-737-4230. Registration ($20 per person) is due June 12 at the Sioux County Extension Office and includes refreshments and the noon meal.
