CRMC holds open house for the public

Monday, June 8, 2009

Recently, the Cherokee Regional Medical Center held an open house and invited the public to come see what changes had been made at the hospital during the $6.6 million renovation project which began in 2007. Those attending were welcome to tour several different department within the hospital.

The tour included the main entrance (left) and chapel(right), which welcome patients, visitors, and employees to CRMC. The Chapel is a welcome addition as a place for quiet meditation.

The tour also went to the Specialty Clinic and the new Oncology area. The Specialty Clinic has added exam rooms as well as a nice waiting area for patients. The new Oncology area is a bright, cheery place where cancer patients receive chemotherapy treatment.

Next on the tour was Surgery Pre-Op. With the new Pre-Op area, patients going into surgery are no longer in the same area as patients coming out of surgery, making for a more pleasant surgical experience.

Physical Therapy was the next stop on the tour. The Physical Therapy area has been completely remodeled, and includes a newly constructed area with a therapy pool that has a submerged treadmill (right).

The tour continued in the Radiology Department, which has also been completely remodeled, and now includes a "Women's Health" area and a state-of-the-art 16-slice CT scanner and an in-house MRI.

The tour concluded in the new Conference Room (below). The Conference Room includes the latest in technology including Blue-Ray DVD and surround sound.

CRMC new main entrance now open - Construction is finished, and the beautiful new main entrance at Cherokee Regional Medical Center is now open. Patients and visitors are encouraged to use this entrance to access all departments at the hospital. Free Valet parking will be offered at both the new Main entrance and the Cherokee Regional Clinic Entrance. Photo contributed
