Friday, June 12, 2009

ODEBOLT - The Galva-Holstein/Schaller-Crestland Lady Pirates took on a tough Odebolt - Arthur softball team in Odebolt on Wednesday night. After being down 1-0 going into the 7th inning, GHSC put together a nice rally, scoring 5 runs in the 7th to win 5-1.

The Lady Pirates' Jaime Christensen continued to pitch well, going all seven innings and giving up four hits and one run while striking out three and walking one.

Leading the Lady Pirates at the plate were Heather Joslin, who went 2-3 with an RBI; Brooke Wiese, who went 1-3 with a double and three RBI; and Brittany Ridder, who went 1-3 with a double and an RBI.

GHSC coach Scott Phelps said, "The kids kept battling tough until they got a chance to score some runs. We continue to play solid defense and get good pitching from game to game as we look to improve."

GHSC is now 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the conference. GHSC next takes on River Valley at Galva tonight.
