South O'Brien girls a blend of youth, veterans

PAULLINA - With a solid starting line-up penciled in for the 2009 season, things look bright for the South O'Brien Wolverines softball team this year.

Reliable pitcher senior Ashton Lansink is back, as are senior outfielder Taylor Julian, sophomore first baseman Chloe Ebel, junior outfielder Danelle Steiinbeck, junior outfielder Sammi Unrau, senior catcher Chelsie Rohrs, junior shortstop Miranda Kelleher, sophomore third baseman Kelsey Proehl, and senior second baseman Christine Haden.

Other players who could impact the South O'Brien club this season include junior utility player Jill Eldridge, junior catcher Karlee Kunkel, junior first baseman Tiana Tesch, and junior third baseman Kylee Kunkel.

Several promising freshmen are ready for playing time, including infielder Erin Brasser, utility player Breana VanBeek, pitcher Jaynee Smith, and utility player Casie Rehder.
