Registration for the 2009-2010 school year for high school students will be held Aug. 3, 4 and 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
You will not be able to register via mail-in for the high school. Juniors and seniors are asked to come on Monday, Aug. 3, sophomores on Aug. 4 and freshmen on the Aug. 5. Though it is preferable to show up on the correct day, students can register on any day.
Registration will consist of: meeting with the counselors and going over the student's schedule, getting locker and homeroom assignments, making any needed changes to contact information, receiving activity tickets, and the taking of school pictures.
Some of the fees to be covered will include book rent ($30), activity ticket ($35), instrument rent ($25) and for students taking College Now! classes, a $20 book rental fee. Students can opt to buy the book directly from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City or on-line. Should you have any question regarding school picture packages, call Pierson Photography at 225-2453.
The school ask all students new to the district to call the office (225-6755) to schedule an extended time to meet with the counselor to develop a schedule for the year. In addition, proof of immunization must be shown before being allowed to enroll. All incoming freshman and students new to the district will also need to show proof of a dental screening preformed within the last year.
On Thursday, Aug. 13, there will be an orientation for all incoming freshmen, new students and their parents. This will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The meeting will cover basic policies, answer any questions and will include time for students to find their classrooms in an abbreviated mock school day.
