MOVILLE - The top-rated Class 1A Woodbury Central softball team hammered youthful River Valley 11-0 in in Regional Tournament action here Wednesday night.
Winning Wildcat pitcher Randi Ebert struck out 14 while firing a two-hitter in seven innings of work.
Kelli Miller took the loss for the Wolverines, allowing 10 hits, three walks, and striking out three.
Jordan Grell smacked two home runs, including a three-run shot in the first inning to pace the 31-5 Wildcats, while temmate Kate Steffen added a three-run home run in the seventh inning. Ebert also had two hits for the winners.
Kelli Miller and Jessica Fundermann had the lone hits for River Valley.
"It has been a great year to work with the girls. They all work khard and are fun to nbe around," said RV coach Erika Jenness. "They did their best and will work towards next year."
River Valley dropped an 8-4 game against Remsen-Union Tuesday night to end regular season play.
Miller took the mound loss, allowing 10 hits and one walk, with seven strikeouts.
Amber Bauer and Kari Ludvigson had two hitseach to lead the Wolverines at the plate, while Lexi Chester added a double, and Kristen Richey and Mackenzie Fitch each singled.
"Remsen-Union got lucky on some of their hits. They took good bounces for them and put them in a scoring position," noted Jenness.
The Wolverines end their season with a 4-22 record.
