COUNCIL BLUFFS/OMAHA - The Northwest Iowa Rough Riders age 11-and-under baseball team finished second at the USSSA AA World Series here last week, reaching the Saturday championship games after fashioning a 5-1 record in bracket play during the week.
The Rough Riders lost their first game, 11-9 ,,to the Lincoln Cyclones, then reeled off five wins in a row to make the champonship game against the Siouxland Stars, based in Sioux City.
The Rough Riders beat the Kansas City Nationals , 7-2, the Omaha Royals, 8-7, the Omaha Stampede, 2-0, the Siouxland Stars, 4-0, and the Texas Diesel, 6-3.

The Rough Riders then lost in the championship game , 3-2 , to the Siouxland Stars, who came out of the loser's bracket, to force a second championship game, which they lost 5-2.
The Rough Riders end their season with a 19-11 over- all record.
