Grab your friends and get your team together. The O'Brien County Conservation Board and the Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association is sponsoring the 1st Annual Inkpaduta Canoe Race to the Prairie Heritage Center near Sutherland.
The event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15 beginning at 10 a.m. Canoes will enter the water at the Hwy 10 bridge near Peterson. The race will finish at the Prairie Heritage Center.
First prize will be a two-night stay at the 12-person camping cabin at Mill Creek and second prize will be a two-night stay at a six-person camping cabin at Dog Creek.
If you aren't in the race for speed, that's okay, too. All registered participants completing the course in under six hours will also be entered in a drawing for a two-night stay in a six-person camping cabin.
The registration deadline is Aug. 8. The entry fee of $30/canoe includes two t-shirts. Additional t-shirts will be available for sale at the Prairie Heritage Center. Lunch will also be sold at the center shortly after noon. So bring your friends and support your favorite team.
