The Cherokee Full Draw Archery Club will host the first leg of the North Iowa Triple Crown Archery Tournament at its 3D Archery Shoot here Saturday and Sunday.
The second leg will be held August 22-23 at Humboldt hosted by the Humboldt Archery Club, and the third leg will be August 29-30 at Fort Dodge hosted by the Webster County Bowhunters & Archery Association.
The Triple Crown is believed to be the first one in the area and should provide a lot of fun and competition for the entrants.
The Cherokee Full Draw Archery Club's range is located two miles south of Cherokee on U.S. Highway 59 and will consist of at least 25 animals and a total of 50 shots for score. A practice target will be available, as well as water and other refreshments and light food.
Full Draw Archery Club's portion of the contest is Saturday and Sunday, with registration fro, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days. While shooting takes place both days, its only necessary to shoot either day to be a full-fledged entrant.
Full Draw Archery Club shoots all of the NFAA classes and youngsters as well as all adults are invited and encouraged to attend and enjoy the range.
There also will be a number of new animal targets available for the tournament.
