The 2009 Cherokee Braves take a 25-3 record, and the Lakes Conference, District, and Substate Championships to the Class 2A State Baseball Tournament in Des Moines today. They play Gilbert at 6 p.m. today in quarterfinal action. If they win, they play at 8 p.m. Thursday, with the 2A Championship game set for 2 p.m. Saturday, all at Principal Park in Des Moines.

As the photo to the right reveals, the outstanding success of the Cherokee Braves baseball team has attracted more and more fans through the years as they have flocked to watch the Braves earn State Tournament berths the past five years in succession.
