Several area high school baseball players have been named to the All-District teams, as selected by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Selected to the first team Class 2-A All Northwest District team were two Cherokee pitchers - Cody Ege, a junior who posted a 6-0 record this season and Matt Koch, a senior, who was 6 -1. Senior Tyler Jones, who served behind the plate for both hurlers, also made the first team. In addition to his defensive skills, the Braves' leadoff hitter batted .436 this season. Another Braves senior, speedy outfielder Kyle Schuett, was also selected to the first team All-District. Schuett hit a robust .443 in the regular season.
Junior Ryan Brasser from South O'Brien, a .371 hitter on the season, was selected for the second team Class 2-A All-District.
In Class 1-A, senior lefty hurler Jacob Lenhoff, who posted a 10-0 mark for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, was named to the First Team All-District, and was joined by junior teammate Will Hanson, who hit .333 and posted a 7-1 mark on the hill. Hanson was named as a utility player. Senior catcher Mark Cronin of Galva-Holstein, a .403 hitter, was also selected to the First Team, and MMC senior Jordan Peterson, a .403 hitter, was named as a catcher on the second honor team.
