The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met with Community Services Director, Lisa Langlitz on Tuesday at the Board's regular meeting.
Langlitz presented the Board with her Case Management Organizational Plan. This three-year service plan included goals for her department to accomplish and to improve service for her clients and their families. Also her plan included updating paperwork. Last year her department hired another case manager and Langlitz wants her department to have uniform paperwork.
The Board also conducted Langlitz's annual employee evaluation while she attending the meeting.
Next on the Boards agenda was Don Kintigh of the Grand Meadow Heritage Center. Kintigh requested $12,000 from the Board to help instillation of a new roof on the barn at the center. The roof was redone seven years ago but Kintigh stated that the company that did the project then didn't use the best materials and its time to have the roof redone.
The Board asked Kintigh to come back in a couple of weeks to give the Board time to think about their situation. Grand Meadow will hold their annual Heritage Days on Sept. 12 and 13.
In other business the Board met with County Engineer Dave Shanahan. Shanahan requested underground permits for two sections in Sheridan Township. Shanahan also delivered his proposals to the Board for conducting bridge inspections and ratings.
The Board also granted the request of Dan James, Mayor of Larrabee, for some storage room in a county shed - located in Larrabee- for the town's snowplow. The request was granted.
The Board then adjourned the meeting to accompany Shanahan on a tour of the secondary roads within the county.
There will be no Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 4, due to the special election for the proposed Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center and Jail.
