25th annual Granville Car Show on August 16

Friday, August 7, 2009

Back when cars were cars - Visitors to the Granville Car Show are sure to see some classic vehicles. Photo submitted.
The 25th anniversary Granville Car Show will be held on Sunday August 16, in conjunction with the town's annual church picnic. Danny Niichel, founder of the show, said directions aren't necessary, as it's a small town and anyone coming should have no trouble locating the festivities.

Classes at the car show include farm tractors, motorcycles, cars, pick-ups and go-carts. This year, the chairman of the car show is Mark Klein, and co-chairmen are Duane Hansen and Niichel, but they are just three of the guys who'll be working at the show.

Car show registration will be from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and awards will be announced at 4 p.m. The show will be held "rain or shine."

If you're not a fan of cars, there will be plenty more activities to choose from at Granville's annual celebration, including the church picnic, a pedal tractor pull, model car show, food stand, afternoon auction, and family games.

Proceeds from the day's events will go to the Granville school.
