HANOVER - Plan to enjoy Hanover's Threshing and Sawmill Day which has been set for Saturday, August 22.
The oats, which were cut and shocked earlier, will be threshed at the Hanover Village southwest of Alta (junction of C-65 and M-27) beginning at 1 p.m. A large steam engine will power the old-time threshing machine. Following the threshing event everyone is encouraged to stay and enjoy the operation of the sawmill. The steam engine will also be used to power the sawmill as it will be sawing trees into lumber. This is a great opportunity for young families to witness farm work of yesteryear and for all to reminisce about times past. Food will be available. There is no admission charge.
