The Cherokee Youth Football League (CYFL) will host a tailgate fund-raiser beginning at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Cherokee Middle School parking lot, on East Indian Street.
The tailgate will feature pork sandwiches, chips, cole slaw, baked beans, dessert, and drink for 7$ for adults, $5 for children age 5-10, and free for children under age five.
There will be a CYFL scrimmage game after the meal, and players will then eat after the scrimmage.
Proceeds benefit the CYFL, a member of the Northwest Iowa Football League (NYFL). The money raised will stayin the localarea, and will be used for football equipment for youth in the Cherokee area.
The CYFL has two team comprised of students in grades 3-4, and two teams for grades 5-6. The team will play games at Cherokee Washington High School's George Hicks Field every Saturday from August 29 to October 3.
