Two Christian bands who are currently on tour across the country are now making a stop in Cherokee this Saturday (Aug. 22) to help with the effort to raise money for the Christian Action Program (CAP) and Mid-Sioux Opportunity.

In the Midst of Lions, a group from St. Louis who are signed to the record label Strike First/Facedown Records, and The Blood Reckoning, a Kokomo, Indiana band signed to Sacrosanct Records, have joined the list of performers at the Youth Concert Saturday, on the lower level of the Cherokee Community Center. The two groups will perform following four different Northwest Iowa Christian bands - Dark Arrival, out of Cherokee; With Rapture Burning, from Rock Valley; Till Flames Fall, from Holstein, and MERSA, from Sioux City. Aurelia native Luke Dreier, who was an English major at Morningside College, is the vocalist and lyricist with MERSA, and is also the show's promoter, through Legit! Productions.

All of the musicians in these bands are young adults who believe strongly in taking action when it comes to helping those in need, and they are donating their time and talent to this worthy cause.
