Delbert M. Crocker, 91, of Cherokee, died Saturday Aug. 22, 2009 in Countryside Estates in Cherokee, following a brief illness.

Delbert M. Crocker was born April 8, 1918 in rural Cherokee to Frank and Pearl (Coburn) Crocker. He attended school in Cherokee graduating from Wilson High School in 1937. On Aug. 31, 1940 he married Beulah Williams in Wayne, Nebraska.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Del worked for Schmidt Furniture in Cherokee until his retirement in 1984.
He enjoyed traveling, reading, and going for walks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters, a son-in-law, Dennis Christensen.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Rhonda Christensen, of Manilla; a grandson, Chad Christensen, and his wife, Dawn, of Grimes; granddaughter, Beth Lyddon, and her husband, Jeremy, also of Grimes; great-grandchildren, Katie Christensen, Mya Christensen, and Addison Lyddon.
