Monarch butterfly migration

Friday, August 28, 2009

Play a part in the annual migration of Monarch butterflies by engaging in a citizen science project. People throughout North America help to uncover the mysteries of this long-distance journey by tagging monarchs as they pass through the area in the fall.

Join the O'Brien County Naturalist on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Mill Creek Park. Meet at the lodge to learn more about these fabulous fliers. Then split into groups to tag and release monarch butterflies. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. Contact the O'Brien County Conservation Board at 723-295-7200 for more information.
